That the scars across the earth are the veins that pump humanity throughout it. That everything we see, hear, feel is the sum of the work that everyone, everything has put in before us. That what we leave behind will affect others in the future that have never heard of us. Is that such a bad thing? Should we seek to leave a trace? Or is that selfish, because all will perish eventually? Maybe that naive optimism is what makes us who we are.
